Does Having Your Own Website Do for You?
A
lot depends on how you wish to use it.
But here are three very simple yet powerful ways that your
new site can start helping you immediately.
1. You now have the
right answer when someone asks you if you have a website.
2. You now have a place
of your own that you can send your clients to when they are
searching for properties or information.
This helps keep them away from other agent’s sites.
Eighty to Ninety percent of your clients use somebody’s
website when they look for homes.
It ought to be yours.
3. If you already own a
domain without an active website, you can “point” your domain to
your free site with Brokers Guild.
It should not cost you a dime.

Parts of this are case sensitive, so, to make it easy, we
did everything in lowercase. You can also find your site

Important FREE Ways to Really Improve Your Site

Add Your Picture
We
already have pictures for about 1/4th of you all.
Go to www.bgcolorado.com
and see if your picture is shown on our agent list.
If not, please e-mail your picture to nangreenfield@gmail.com
so that Nancy Greenfield can add your picture to your site.
We also need your picture so that we can add pictures to our
agent directory page. Send
us any good picture that you have and we will format it to work
correctly.

Personalize Your Home Search Page
The
home search that is presently on your website is NOT personalized
with your contact information. It’s
both important and EASY for you to have your name on every search
and every listing printed out. With
Metrolist’s new flat fee, you are already paying for 2 IDX data
feeds. You can put one
of those to use by completing PAGE 7 of this pdf form www.BrokersGuildHomes.com/Docs/IDX_Associate_Agreement.pdf
Yes, it’s a
miserably long form. Every
Realtor with an IDX site has signed it at least once and you only
have to do page 7.
- Please note that Metrolist charges a set up
fee of $25 for the 1st time that you sign an IDX agreement with
them. If you have ever signed this agreement before, there is
no charge. -
After completing this you need to fax PAGE 7 ONLY to Dave
Killian at 720-962-9081 so that I can add my
signature to your form and Fax it on to Metrolist. They
will then send you a link for us to use on your site.
You just forward the e-mail with that link to nangreenfield@gmail.com
and we take care of the rest.
A Great Low Cost Way to
Have Your Own Domain
If you would like to give your site it’s own easy to
remember domain name such as YourName.com, you can purchase a domain
name at GoDaddy.com for about $12 a year, call their customer
support 480-505-8877 and ask them to “POINT” your domain name to
the site that we did for you- www.bgcolorado.com/yourname.htm
Again, all in lower case letters.
I would personally strongly recommend that you spend the
$12 a year and take this step. You
can safely advertise your domain name if you personally own and
control it. That way
YOU are in charge of your own destiny.
If you later decide to get a custom site from a vendor, you
can then point your domain name to that. You
don’t have to know how to do anything with technology.
You just let it help you.
Owning your own domain name is easy, inexpensive, and smart.
It’s like having a permanent address or phone number for
your friend and clients.

What do
I have to do?
Nothing,
your site will work happily without any effort on your part.
But we would like you to send us your picture and send
Metrolist page 7 of their IDX agreement.
You would also be smart to get a domain name and point it to
your free site.
Can I make changes to
my site?
No,
we are providing this for free.
Providing a site that you can customize is a much more
complicated project. In
order for it to be “free” we would need to raise our fees.
Does my
free site include Lead Capture?
The
site that we are giving you is free. There
is currently no provision for lead capture built into this site.
You can get a free site with excellent lead capture and
client follow-up features by contacting Cheri West, 720-529-6305, at
Bank of America. They
provide an excellent co-branded site at no cost to you.
They do spend a lot of money on these and they expect to get
mortgage business in return. They
also use your co-branded site to send lots of Bank of America e-mail
to your online clients. But
their free sites are worth looking into.
Is my free site a good
replacement for a website that I’m already paying for?
If you are making money off of an existing site you should
keep it. If not, you may
want to drop your other site and use the free one that we are
providing for you. If
you find another site that will make you money later, switch to it.
Again, you should own and personally control your domain name
so that you can redirect it whenever you wish.
If I already have a website, how do I link
to it from my Free Brokers Guild Website?
If you already have a website,
please e-mail us with your domain name so that we can include a link
to it on your Free Brokers Guild Website.
Are we
working on additional web related tools for you?
Yes,
we are in negotiations with several vendors for useful tools.
These include some very full featured websites that you could
obtain from us a very competitive rate.
These would not be free.
We will let you know how this all turns out.
Either way, we will continue to offer your free website as
you have it now.
